Independence Home Care, Inc. was established to meet the growing demand for senior home health care services in Massachusetts. We are led by an experienced team of registered nurses and offer a wide range of individually tailored Private Nursing, Private Home Care, and Nursing Care Management services, which allow our patients and clients to live independently in the comfort of their own homes. Presently our agency services cities and towns located in Eastern Massachusetts.
Management Team
Jenna Moody, RN, BS, Providence College
Jenna first recognized the need for in-home care when she witnessed her mother and aunt try to care for her grandmother with Alzheimer’s. She saw first-hand the challenges, stress and emotional strain that family caregivers endure. Jenna is a Registered Nurse and worked with Independence Home Health Care for four years before being promoted to Director of Home Care in 2012. She grew up in Duxbury, MA and currently resides there.
Patrick O’Connell, BSBA, Boston College
Patrick has been a small business owner and entrepreneur since high school, and first became interested in the home health care industry in 2008 after seeing his father’s family deal with the stress of caring for his grandmother, who was recovering from a life-threatening illness. Patrick co-founded Independence Home Care shortly thereafter, in 2009. Patrick grew up in Duxbury, MA and is currently a resident of the North End of Boston, MA.
Joan M. Farahmand, BSBA; M Ed, Merrimack College
Joan is the mother of three daughters and has previous experience in the financial services and teaching fields. After helping to care for her father through a terminal illness and for her elderly mother prior to her death, Joan saw the need for respite care and home care services. Her family wanted to keep their parents at home, but needed assistance in order to ensure they were properly cared for and comfortable. Joan co-founded Independence Home Care shortly thereafter.
Ann O’Connor, RN, BSN, Boston College
Ann has over 25 years of experience in the Home Health Care industry and has worked with Independence Home Health Care in various capacities since its inception in 2009. She is the aunt of one of the co-founders, Patrick O’Connell, and served as the primary caregiver / nurse for her mother (and Patrick’s grandmother), during her time of need. Ann currently resides in Duxbury, MA.
