Graceful Aging! This is the first blog of a series.

After spending so much time meeting with seniors in the community and at the local Senior Centers, I have decided to share some insightful knowledge. There are some terrific and vital seniors who have great advice and suggestions on healthy aging. This is the first of several blogs on aging gracefully.

Have you ever notice that some seniors just don’t look or act their chronological age? I often thought to myself that they must have inherited good genes. But after talking to many seniors, the folks who look young and healthy really do make an effort to stay youthful. How do they do it? Well here are a few things that I learned.

They have remained active both mentally and physically. Keeping in touch with the community in which they live is essential to feeling connected and maintaining a sense of self worth. They read and continue to learn new ideas. Many sign up for classes offered at their local Senior Center such as computer training or art lessons. Book clubs are another creative way to keep you reading and sharing ideas. This fosters intelligent conversations among a group of contemporaries.

The first and foremost thing to do is keeping your mind stimulated. Learning new things keep you focused and sharp. Intellectual activity, friendships, and socialization provided assistance for aging gracefully.
